I made my first quilt when my daughter was born. I then went on to make quilts from patterns and books, but I quickly found that I didn’t ever want to do the same pattern twice. I also found that “corners” and “measurements” were stressful and unsatisfying. I realized that art quilting was the direction I wanted to go.
I find ideas and inspiration EVERYWHERE but I particularly love tropical motifs, cultural or ethnic designs, and anything my daughter draws.
I consider myself very lucky to have found a passion in life and am constantly, and pleasantly, surprised by the depth and expression in fibers of all sorts. I only hope that my love for this medium comes across in my work and allows the viewer to feel something too. “let the beauty you love, be what you do”---Rumi
